The Serenity Home Leisure Hot Tub Maintenance Guide

A simple, step-by-step guide to maintaining your hot tub’s water chemistry and protecting your investment.

Keep Your Water Crystal Clear

Maintaining your spa doesn't have to be complicated. Follow this easy schedule to ensure your water stays clean, safe, and ready for your next soak.
Setup Instructions
Step 1:

Ensure the power is OFF at the main breaker.

Step 2:

Fill your tub by placing a garden hose through the filter well.

Step 3:

Turn the power ON at the main breaker (the display will show the tub going through its priming cycle).

Step 4:

Place the Mineral Stick into the Filter Basket.

Step 5:

Turn the jets on and add Stain and Scale (use 1/2 bottle for city water, or 1 full bottle for well water).

Step 6:

With jets still on, add 3 capfuls of Oxy Shock to activate the mineral stick.

Step 7:

Test the water and adjust as needed to reach the ideal ranges: pH between 7.2 and 7.8, and Alkalinity between 80 and 120.

Maintenance Schedule
After Every Use:

With the jets on, add 1 capful of Chlorinating Granules.

Why? This sanitizes the water and burns out anything introduced during your soak, such as body lotion, deodorant, or hair products.

Weekly:

Turn the jets on and add 3 capfuls of Spa Shock to oxidize and refresh the water.

Test the water and adjust your pH and Alkalinity levels as needed.

Monthly:

Remove and rinse the filter.

Wipe down the acrylic shell above the water line using a non-abrasive cloth.

Every 4 Months (Drain & Refill):

Safety First: Always turn the POWER OFF at the main breaker before draining.

Drain the tub, then refill it through the filter well.

Change the Mineral Stick.

Turn the power back on at the main breaker.

With jets on, add Stain and Scale, followed by 3 capfuls of Oxy Shock.

Test and adjust your pH and Alkalinity.

Yearly:

Replace your filter with a brand new one.

Troubleshooting & Additional Care

Cloudy Water:

Add a double dose of Chlorinating Granules, plus a dose of Natural and Clear.

Oily Water or Scum Ring:

Add a double dose of Chlorinating Granules and a dose of Natural and Clear.

pH Imbalance:

Use pH Up or pH Down to bring your levels back to the 7.2-7.8 range.

Foamy Water:

Use Foam Away as needed to reduce bubbles.

Pro-Tip: To avoid foam and cloudy water issues entirely, DO NOT wash your bathing suits with laundry detergent. The leftover detergent residue creates foam in the tub. Instead, simply rinse your bathing suit in plain water.
